LOTS OF FUN AND LEARNING FOR STUDENTS OF ALL AGES!
Great Times Day Camp is the perfect location for your school to host its 2016 science day or field day event! With 59 acres to explore, olympic size swimming pools, and sports fields there is never a down moment at Great Times Day Camp. We offer 2 diffrent types of trips, one based around learning and exploration. The second is more of your tradtional field day trip with an open schedule for students to enjoy their day with friends.
Pond Study: Students will get the oppurtunity to observe aquatic life using nets and actualy go into the lake and scoop out the seaweed to be place on trays for examination. Students sift through the dirt and seaweed, (use 2oz. cups and sticks) looking for live aquatic insects, pond creatures, and fresh water organisms. Observing Common Fresh Water Organisms through Microscopes: Using trays filled with water, seaweed and aquatic life, have students use tweezers and eye droppers to prepare their own slides and observe organisms. Use charts to identify organisms and share them with the group. Nature Walk: Take the nature walk through the trails and discuss the water cycle and the flow of water from The Camden County Environmental Center to our lake, through to Camp Halawasa, and then on to Ocean City. Students will get to visit both dams sites to better understand their purpose as a spillway along with observing the fish nests that have made our camp their home. Wildlife is everywhere at Great Times and students may get to see turtles, snakes, bird nests, fish, frogs, etc.. Boating: Our instructor will discuss all safety and boating rules first. Then students get to take the boats out to explore on the lake while observing the aquatic wildlife in its natural habitat. Compass Orienteering: Learn to navigate with a compass on a 1 mile course. Water Testing: Learn about PH and nitrates and their importance in the lake ecosystem. Ropes Challenge Course: Build teamwork and have adventures on our safe, low ropes adventure and rock climbing wall. 4 Hours of Fun and Fitness!! Great Times Day Camp has all of the facilities necessary and more to created a great environment to celebrate the students and their accomplishments. Whether it be graduation activities, end of the year pcinics or simply a field day. Great Times Day Camp has the perfect set up for you! Some Sample Activities Include: Ropes Course Challenge , Athletic Contests, Face-Painting, 2 olympic size pools, Archery, DJ Booth with Dance Floor, Volley Ball Courts, beach for any activities, and more! 1. CUSTOM SCHEDULE
We will work one on one with your event organizer to make sure we have all the activities and accomidations ready for your big day. We can create custom schedules for each class or for all the students. We are extremely flexable with this as it is your day, not ours.
LUNCH INCLUDED
Lunch is included for all students and teachers. Please inquire for the different lunch options.
CERTIFIED STAFF
We will make sure that we have the needed staff such as life guards and ropes courses instructors present the day of your event.
